Maveric Careers — Build Critical Infrastructure Across Europe

A Maveric career is built on real work. We are an independent European civil engineering contractor, founded in Galway in 2004, delivering civil, structural and enabling works for mission-critical infrastructure across Ireland, Germany and Norway. Because we self-deliver — our own crews, our own plant — the people who join us do the engineering, not the paperwork around someone else's.

If you are looking at civil engineering jobs in Ireland or across Europe and want your work to matter, this is a place where the ground you set out, the concrete you place and the services you protect carry the data centres, substations, grids and energy storage the wider economy depends on.

Why build a career at Maveric

We are not a labour broker and we do not subcontract the work that defines us. Maveric self-delivers — the crews on site and the plant they operate are ours. That model shapes everything about working here: you are part of the team accountable for the result, from a cleared site through to a handover backed by a complete digital record.

It also means breadth. Over a career here you can move across earthworks, deep drainage and utilities, reinforced concrete, high-voltage civils and external works, rather than being held to a single narrow package. The work is genuine civil engineering on infrastructure that has to be right.

  • Real responsibility — own crews and own plant, not subcontracted labour
  • Exposure to mission-critical sectors: data centres, substations and grid, BESS, renewables and semiconductors
  • Work across three European markets — Ireland, Germany and Norway
  • An in-house digital backbone and a field-technology stack used on every site
  • A safety culture aligned to ISO 45001, with quality and environment aligned to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

Safety first — Home Safe. Every Shift. Every Day.

Our safety commitment is not a slogan on a wall. "Home Safe. Every Shift. Every Day." is the standard we hold every site and every shift to, and it is supported by a safety management system aligned to ISO 45001. Method statements and risk assessments are signed off before a task starts, and observations, near-misses and incidents are logged and closed out.

The technology we invest in makes safety real rather than aspirational. Ground-penetrating radar and vacuum (suction) excavation let crews find and expose live services without striking them; AI proximity detection stops plant before it makes contact with a person; and wearable hand-arm vibration monitoring tracks each operative's exposure on the tools. People work here knowing the systems around them are built to bring them home.

The disciplines we work with

Delivering the full civil scope takes a broad mix of skills, and we value experience at every level — from operatives and tradespeople to engineers and managers. The roles below describe the disciplines a self-delivery contractor relies on; they are illustrative of the work, not a list of current vacancies.

If your discipline is not named here but sits within civil engineering and groundworks for major infrastructure, we are still interested to hear from you.

  • Civil and site engineers
  • Plant operators and groundworks crews
  • Setting-out and survey, including GPS machine control and drone survey
  • QA/QC and materials testing
  • HSEQ and safety professionals
  • Project, site and contracts management
  • Temporary works and engineering support

Technology that backs the people on site

Every Maveric project runs on the same digital backbone — our proprietary construction ERP, MOS — which holds drawings, records, inspections and reports in one place. Around it sits the field-technology stack: GPS and Trimble machine control for millimetre-accurate setting-out, ground-penetrating radar and vacuum excavation for safe digging around live services, AI proximity detection, fleet telematics, and drone survey with photogrammetry feeding BIM.

For someone building a career, that investment matters. You work with current methods and tools, your output is captured cleanly, and the skills you develop here travel — they are the skills modern mission-critical construction is built on.

Where you would be based

Maveric operates as three entities under one Irish parent, so a career here can be rooted in your region while connecting you to work across Europe.

  • Ireland — Maveric Contractors Limited, the group's home in Galway, on the ground since 2004
  • Germany — Maveric Bau GmbH, the continental delivery hub, with operations and plant in Frankfurt and registration in Tegernsee
  • Norway — Maveric Entreprenør NUF, our Nordic capability, in Moss and Oslo

How to express interest in a Maveric career

We keep this page evergreen rather than listing every opening, because the right people are worth hearing from whether or not a specific role is advertised. If you want to build a construction career with a self-delivery contractor and the work above speaks to you, we would like to hear from you.

Tell us your discipline, your experience and where you would like to be based. Make contact through our contact page and your message will reach the shared inbox the relevant team monitors.
